As the business world changes and adapts to the 21st century, the challenge to identify and source the key talent needed for future success becomes ever more important.
Working on the principle that observing and seeing how people act and perform is a more reliable approach to identifying talent than interviews alone, I research, develop and build assessment activities and centres that accurately identify the key talent for a business. These can then be used for recruitment or talent development purposes.
I work closely with client companies to understand their business needs, culture and activity so that I can build bespoke assessment exercises that most accurately reflect their working practice. This is a powerful way to see how people are likely to respond to the actual day-to-day challenges they will face in a given role.
Often, the process of assessment can drive development activity to further grow the business capability towards it's strategic aim.
Example:
I was asked to research and analyse the leadership skills that would best prepare a commercial business for future success and to ascertain the current state of those skills.
After a period of research with the business, I made a recommendation regarding the key skills to focus on and identified those that were most critical but currently in short supply.
I was then then tasked to develop a programme for skills development in those key areas. The programme has been developed and delivered and continues in place with regional providers around the globe to ensure a flexible, localised delivery.
